Itinerary desert tour from Fes to marrakech
Day 1: Fez – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Desert – camel ride and overnight stay in a Berber tent
We start our desert tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Middle Atlas region and drive through the cedar forest of Azrou to Midelt. We then cross the Tizin Tlghamt Pass before crossing the magnificent Ziz Gorge. After admiring the green scenery of the Atlas Plateau, the landscape gradually becomes more deserted and you learn that we are approaching the city of Errachidia. After passing through the desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani, you will finally reach the town of Merzouga, where you will be warmly welcomed in desert style. Finally, you will board a camel and cross the majestic desert dunes at sunset before arriving at the desert camp where you will spend the night. At the camp, dinner is accompanied by entertainment with Berber music and dancing.
Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
On the second day of our tour from Fes to Marrakech, you will be awakened by your desert guide to watching the sunset over the desert dunes, a scene that can only be described as heavenly. You will then return to Merzouga, taking a camel ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will have breakfast in a traditional riad in the town and then leave the desert for our next destination: the Dades Valley. On the way, we will make our first stop in the town of Rissani to visit a traditional market. We will then visit Erfoud, where we will discover fossil marble workshops. We will then reach the magnificent Todra Gorge, which is considered the highest and narrowest gorge in Morocco. We will have lunch and explore the beauty of the area before continuing on to the Dades Valley. Admire the rocky landscape and sandy castles scattered across the valley, have dinner and stay overnight in a luxury hotel.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
On the last day of your desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we’ll have breakfast at the hotel and then continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. This spectacular road owes its name to the fact that it is full of kasbahs and abandoned sandcastles, which means we will have plenty of photo opportunities. We will then cross the beautiful Valley of Roses and reach the town of Ouarzazate. Sahara Desert Excursion We will then travel to the world-famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, possibly the most important historical kasbah in Morocco. It was built on the orders of Pasha Glaoui, an important ruler of the region in the early 20th century. Today, the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the location of numerous international historical films. Finally, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains towards Marrakech and enjoy the green and mountainous scenery. We will cross the famous Tizin-Tichka Pass where we can stop for panoramic photos before finally arriving in Marrakech. End of our tour from Fes to Marrakech and end of our service.
