Program for the three days trip from Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Gorge
After breakfast, check out from the hotel or riad to start our trip from Marrakech, crossing the Dades Valley (2260m) on the way. Our guide will tell us about nomadic life below the Tiz Inn Tichka pass at 2260m until we reach the world of 1000 Kasbah. This architecture was built between the 19th and 20th centuries and was home to Tami El Glaoui, who lived there in the 19th century. We will then continue to the Kasbah Unila valley, and to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Ait Ben-Haddou, the oldest town in the region, which was the hub of caravan routes between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. Along the valley, you will see ochre clay contrasting with green plants. Free time to visit the Kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou. The journey then continues to the Dades Valley via the Valley of Roses.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga)
On the second day of our desert trip from Marrakech, after breakfast, we leave our hotels in Dades and head to the huge dunes of Merzuga, but before that, we have a short discovery in the palm groves of Todra and Tinghir Gorges, a walk through this oasis. The drive continues to Erfoud, where we visit a geological site to look at fossils and then stop for lunch. We continue on to Erg Chebbi, famous for the nomads who created the Gnawa music that originated in Africa, and with whom – time permitting – we can have a cup of tea. In the afternoon, we’ll take a well-equipped camel ride to admire the direction of the dunes and bivouac to capture the sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in a Berber tent.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Errahidia – Ifrane – Fez
We get up early to catch the breathtaking sunrise and return for a full breakfast, then our camel driver prepares the camels to return to our hotel in Erg Chebbi, time permitting, we shower and pick up our car for the journey to the religious capital of Morocco Fez, crossing the Middle Atlas, the Errachidia landscape, the Azrou and cedar forest with groups of macaque monkeys, after arrival in the Moroccan Switzerland Ifrane free time for rest and arrival in Fez at 17h: 00 hours. End of your trip from Marrakech.
