2 days tour from Fes to Merzouga
Day 1: Fes – Middle Atlas – Erg Chebbi – camel ride and overnight stay in a Berber tent
We start our tour from Fes to Merzouga, picking you up early in the morning (8 am) from your hotel in Fez to begin our exciting journey through the Sahara Desert, starting in the town of Ifrane. Ifrane is known as a winter sports resort and is often referred to as the ‘Switzerland of Morocco. We continue through the cedar forests of Azrou in the mountains, where we may stop to see wild macaques. After spending some time there, we continue our journey by car, which will take us to the town of Midelt. We then cross the Tizin Tlghamt Pass before crossing the beautiful Ziz Gorge. After admiring the green scenery of the Atlas Plateau, the landscape gradually becomes more deserted and you will discover that we are approaching the city of Errachidia. After passing through the desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani, we finally reach the town of Merzouga, where we are warmly welcomed in desert style. Finally, at sunset, you will ride a camel through the majestic desert dunes before arriving at the desert camp where you will spend the night. At the camp, dinner is accompanied by entertainment with Berber music and dancing.
Day 2: Merzouga – camel ride – return to Fez
On the last morning of your tour from Fes to Merzouga, you will be woken up by your desert guide to see the morning sun. The morning sunsets over the dunes in the desert and you have a picture in front of you that is simply heavenly. You will then return to Merzouga on camels and ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will have breakfast in a traditional riad in the town before leaving the desert and heading back to Fez along the same scenic route as the previous day. Upon arrival in Fez, we will drop you off at your chosen location. End of our tour from Fes to Merzouga and the end of our service.
